CudaJet: The Revolutionary Underwater Jetpack for Watersport Enthusiasts

Cudajet backpack-sized jetpack

For those in the U.S. who are always on the lookout for the next big thing in water sports, the CudaJet underwater jetpack is set to make waves. Designed for those who seek thrilling water experiences, the CudaJet promises an unparalleled ride beneath the waves, allowing users to glide effortlessly, outpacing even legendary Olympian Michael Phelps in his heyday.

Originating from the UK, the design of the CudaJet emphasizes both function and comfort. The harness is reminiscent of a conventional personal flotation vest, tailored to fit a range of body sizes with small, medium, and large variants available. Its design ensures easy wear, setting it apart from other bulkier underwater toys like sea scooters. For those needing a more customized fit, additional harness sizes can be ordered.

The underwater jetpack is set to be available exclusively in the U.S. through Aqua Flight, a retailer based in Fort Lauderdale. When it comes to speed, the CudaJet does not disappoint. It can zoom users underwater at a swift pace of nearly 10 feet per second, or roughly 7 mph. This surpasses Phelps’ impressive record-setting speed of 6 mph, and far outstrips the average human swimming speed of 4 mph. Designed with a compact yet powerful mechanism, water is drawn from the front and expelled with tremendous force from the back, enabling users to achieve speeds of up to 8mph underwater with minimal effort.

Operating the CudaJet is a breeze. Users control the speed with a handheld remote and steer using their body movements. Comprising 45 3D-printed components, assembly is straightforward and can be completed in roughly 10 minutes. As of now, CudaJet’s patent is pending. It’s available now for a range of purposes, from leisure to emergencies.

The inspiration for the CudaJet came from the Seabob, a premium hand-held water scooter. However, Archie, the mind behind the CudaJet, envisioned it as a more budget-friendly option compared to the hefty $10,000 price tag of the Seabob. Using the vast resources of 3D Hubs, an online manufacturing giant, the CudaJet transformed from a mere concept to a tangible prototype within a year. It boasts a unique propulsion system, distancing itself from being just a miniaturized jet-ski. The CudaJet incorporates innovative materials such as a metal-turned driveshaft, a CNC milled heatsink, a fully 3D printed PLA plastic body, and a carbon-fiber dust infused polymer propeller. This combination ensures maximum strength while maintaining a lightweight design. Each 3D printed component is fortified with epoxy resin to enhance its underwater durability, while all electronic components are safely housed in watertight compartments.

Currently, the CudaJet is available for purchase at www.cudajet.com priced at £14,000 GBP, with the Founders Edition retailing at a slightly higher £16,000 GBP, or for people in the US at Aqua-Flight out of Florida. While the price may seem steep, ensuring that it might not be for everyone, the experience it promises is tantalizing. Admittedly, the chance to strap on the CudaJet and emulate the graceful maneuvers of a dolphin is something that I, for one, would leap at without hesitation. If the opportunity ever arises to try it, count me in!
